The Turtle Conservation Project (TCP) established it's pioneering conservation programme in Rekawa near Tangalle, Sri Lanka, in 1996. The Project aims to protect marine turtles in their natural habitat whilst providing an alternative source of income to local people formely dependent on the illegal collection of turtle eggs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
